My hands were injured on the job

My hands were injured while I was on the job. My co-worker was operating a machine that he was not authorized to, when my hands got caught in the clamps. Is this a workers compensation claim or do I have a case against my employer?

It all depends on how you want to proceed. You could have a case for either. Workers comp can typically be easier than pursuing litigation. But if you pursue a case, you may receive more compensation. It depends on what you are looking to achieve. You should talk to your HR department and you should talk to a lawyer.
