    Out of work since May

I had an altercation with one of my patients at work. The company I worked for asked for my resignation and so I complied. Now I have not been able to find any other employment since May, 2012. Do I have a case against my former employer?

Initially, I would say that you don't have a case. If you didn't resign, and were fired, you could have qualified for unemployment. Unfortunately, it sounds like this falls under doing the right thing, but not being rewarded for it. I would say you need to let it go, and move on, because you do not have a case.
